The wheels on the bus are coming off...coming off...all the live long day. At least yesterday we picked the winning team although they didn't cover. A wise handicapper once told me to trust my method and that everyone goes thru slumps. At this point you may be eagerly awaiting my next selection for fade material.
Record 28-27
Virginia -14 vs. Virginia Tech
This in-state rivalry means a lot to one team's tournament profile as UVA has thoroughly confused us all. 6-0 vs. the top 100 with six losses coming against teams worse then 100 RPI. The Wahoos struggled in the first half of their 1st game against Virginia Tech back on January 24th before running away to a 16 point win 74-58. This Cavaliers team thrives at home winning their last four there by margins of 37, 3, 14 and 20. The worry here is that the low total means a closer game, but there's nothing to say that this couldn't be another 78-41 game like the one against Clemson. The Hokies are a team with a short bench and a relatively quick turnaround from their home loss Saturday vs. Georgia Tech. I can't see a reason to back this team at all in this one.
