Well if we were the stock market, my picks would be pretty low. This is the toughest time for those of you who follow picks because some will say that things will get better and take Western Carolina. Others will say, let's jump aboard the fade train and go in on Wofford. I say sit things out and let me figure this stuff out. College basketball handicapping is a very streaky process. Ask any major handicapper and they'll tell you they've been through struggles. Some of them will lie and say never happened, but deep down they know there's times when they are confused. With that here's my Monday selection
Record 28-26
Western Carolina -4 vs. Wofford
The Catamounts return home after salvaging a three game road trip with a win Saturday over Georgia Southern. Western Carolina is 6-6 in the Southern Conference and will be seeing Wofford for the first time this season. They have a balanced attack with Trey Sumler leading the way scoring almost 18 points per game. Three other players put up 10 points per contest or more. Wofford relies on Karl Cochran and Spencer Collins for a lot of their offense. The Terriers have lost six straight road games and are sporting a roster that has just two Juniors and Seniors overall. This is a young team that may hit the wall eventually as a lot of the freshmen get towards the end of the season.
