NCAA Week 8

Duke at Virginia
Conference rivals headed in opposite directions class in Atlantic Coast Conference play as Virginia hosts Duke on Saturday. The Cavaliers hope to snap a three-game losing streak, fresh off the heartbreak of a 27-26 defeat to Maryland that came when Alec Vozenilek's 42-yard field goal try sailed wide right with 10 seconds left.

Florida State at Clemson
The date marked on many calendars comes Saturday when No. 4 Clemson hosts No. 5 Florida State in an ACC showdown of undefeated rivals. The matchup has determined the division champion the past four years and this season's winner will remain a central figure in the national championship discussion.

USC at Notre Dame
Notre Dame will be looking for its first home victory against USC since 2001 when the teams meet Saturday night in their annual rivalry game. The Trojans have won five in a row in South Bend, putting up at least 31 points in each game.

Washington at Arizona State
Arizona State looks to extend its winning streak over No. 25 Washington to eight when it hosts the Huskies on Saturday. The up-and-down Sun Devils badly need a victory to remain UCLA’s stiffest competition in the Pac-12 South, while the Huskies seek to snap a two-game skid that has dropped them to fifth in the Pac-12 North.

UCLA at Stanford
Unbeaten UCLA, ranked 10th nationally, has a chance to get itself into the national championship picture over the next two Saturdays but the visiting Bruins first must defeat No. 13 Stanford on Saturday.

Indiana at Michigan
Fresh off a devastating loss to Penn State, Michigan aims to rebound Saturday when Indiana pays a visit to Ann Arbor. The 24th-ranked Wolverines suffered their first loss of the season last weekend, falling to the Nittany Lions, 43-40, in four overtimes. Now Michigan is trying to avoid losing back-to-back Big Ten games for the first time since 2010.

NFL Week 7

Bears at Redskins
Robert Griffin III is piling up yards and finally showed a little spark with his legs last week at Dallas, though it did not result in a win. The Redskins will try to turn those yards into points when they host the Chicago Bears on Sunday. The Bears are the third-highest scoring team in the NFL and are trying to make their way clear of a crowded field atop the NFC North.

Cowboys at Eagles
The NFC East is hardly a dominant division, but someone has to emerge as the best of the bunch. The Dallas Cowboys and host Philadelphia Eagles will battle for first place on Sunday in a divisional matchup that could feature a back-and-forth aerial display.

Broncos at Colts
Peyton Manning makes his much-anticipated return to Indianapolis, bringing the undefeated Denver Broncos into town for a prime-time matchup with Andrew Luck and the Colts on Sunday night. The plot was juicy enough: Manning against Luck, the No. 1 overall in 2012 and the reason the Colts decided to jettison the league's only four-time MVP.

Chargers at Jaguars
The San Diego Chargers attempt to go over the .500 mark for the first time this season when they visit the winless Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. San Diego has alternated wins and losses since beginning its first season under coach Mike McCoy with a setback against the Houston Texans.
