What a Disaster

February 10, 2013

Well that was a disaster. Unfortunately all four of our picks went by the wayside dropping our record closer to .500. That's the frustrating thing sometimes about handicapping. I felt like that was a winning card and unfortunately it turned out wrong. I find this sport to be incredibly streaky so we'll see if we can start a new winning one.

Record 28-24

Boston College/Duke Over 142
The Blue Devils hit the road to snowy Chestnut Hill to take on Boston College. The Eagles are a talented team that is still getting the hang of things. They have no problems playing games with pace at home having scored 70 or more in two straight and six of their last seven games. Their problem comes on the defensive end where they have allowed 65 or more in three of their last four home games. They are led by Ryan Anderson's 16 points per game as well as Olivier Hanlan's 13.8. We know what Duke brings into this one with five players averaging at least 10 points per game. The Blue Devils last four road games in conference all have had at least 139 points scored so this one should approach that number. We like this game to be played in the 70's.

Harvard -2 vs. Columbia
Princeton's loss yesterday could be Harvard's gain if they are able to win at Columbia this afternoon. This game was moved until today because of the snow in the northeast. That shouldn't bother the Crimson who have won four straight and don't mind playing on the road. They have won at California and Boston College playing close games at UConn and Memphis as well. They are led by Wesley Saunders and Siyani Chambers. The Lions are an inconsistent team who have only one win in the Ivy's so far losing last time out to woeful Dartmouth at home. They have not exactly held homecourt too well falling to Marist, Elon and Cornell there. We think Harvard will be focused enough to win here.
