Manhattan Face with an Oakland Booty

February 07, 2013

Well you've seen first hand why I can't bet unders. Every time I flipped over to the St. Louis game, more and more points were being scored. Look at the Billikens scores for the season and you'll see for the most part that this was an outlier last night. Tulsa also was a letdown big time but UCF saved us from a complete trainwreck of a night.

Record 27-18

Canisius -1.5 vs. Manhattan
We're back on the fade Manhattan train after profiting at their expense last Friday in Siena's 66-63 victory. Now we're fading them at home against Canisius tonight at seven. Manhattan has lost six of their last nine games. They just are not as effective without George Beamon who was the leading scorer. Shut down Rhamel Brown and you can shut this team down. This is a team that wants to keep the pace slow and the score low which should suit Canisius well considering their lack of depth. They have four double digit scorers led by Billy Baron at 16.3 PPG. The Golden Griffins have a win at Temple already this season and have been victorious in five of their last six games. We think Canisius gets the win.

Oakland +4.5 vs. North Dakota State
Oakland is finally playing like the team everyone expected them to as they've won four of their last five games. The Grizzlies play their fifth home game in their last six as they host North Dakota State. They lost on the road at them on January 12th 73-65. That was the seventh road game out of eight games overall for the road weary Grizz. They are led by Travis Bader who is putting up almost 22 points per game and is a lot better at home. The Bison continue to play without Taylor Braun which puts more pressure on Marshall Bjorklund and TrayVonn Wright who are the leading scorers. ND State has lost their last two road games so they may struggle in this one.

Montana -12 vs. Northern Colorado
Hitting up the Grizzlies once again, but this time in Montana where they haven't lost since December 15th. This team is rolling right now as they have their backcourt healthy now with Will Cherry and Kareem Jamar. They faced Northern Colorado back on January 12th winning at their place 85-77. This is a squad that blows out teams who aren't on their level at home regularly beating EWU by 15 and Idaho State by 19. It's a tough place to play overall.
